Known Unto God

Quote of the moment:
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Laurence Binyon, For the Fallen.

From BBC News "In Pictures"

SAS beret. Too young for the Falklands or the first Gulf War. Perhaps the helicopter crash at the start of the second.

:) some of the most beautiful words ever written.

Thanks for that. It's so easy to get excited about christmas holidays and stuff at this time of year that we don't even take a minute out to remember. What makes me saddest is the unknown soldier, symbolising all the other nameless ones, and all the bodies lying out in foreign fields - even if those corners of the world are forever England, we won't know. No one ever will. Man, even the Eastenders episode about it was amazing.
