The Bosom of my Family Guy
Quote of the moment:
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
- Corinthians Book 1, Chapter 13, Verse 1 (King James Version). Mentioned by the Podge, but the old version's always better:
Stewie (reading the Bible): "My my, what a thumping good read, lions eating Christians, people nailing each other to two by fours. I'll say, you won't find that in Winnie the Pooh."
Yes indeed, I love Family Guy. So much, in fact, that I'm adding this to the sidebar:
Now I shall return to the bosom of my family. The cards and decorations are up, I made a particularly expert fire, the Two Towers EE DVD is on and Sarah's knitting. I persuaded her to stray from scarves (all she's done for the last umpteen months since she took it up as calmingly therapeutic/something to fidget with) to making me a hat. Black with red stripes, of course.

meh the king james version isn't great, charity doesnt sound as good as love. Then again, was reading king james version of leviticus with victoria and theres a well funny bit that says "Thou shalt not discover thy father's skirt".. not kidding, who knows what it means, but tres amusant. We had a vision of some dude opening a closet, seeing a skirt, and the skirt going "I am your father's skirt...", and the dude going: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...
hahahha. anwyay. w00t for family guy! better than the simpsons.
"w00t for family guy! better than the simpsons." HELL YES. WAAAAAY better!
Indeed.
However, it says in the King James version "sounding brass", which was changed to "clanging gong". Why? There's already a cymbal in there. Sounding brass (as the non-militant new age Christian SCUMBAG WHO DOESNT LIKE BLOOD AND HELLFIRE AND GOOD HYMNS ON PROPER ORGANS obviously wasn't aware) means trumpets/bugles. The 300 used by Joshua at the battle of Jericho for example.
Yes. I love the hymnage.
hehehe. Agreed, the major over-organing is ossum :D
Plus the StarWars theme wouldn't have sounded so awesome on a keyboard with guiter accompanyment.
A toast to Mr Corrie.
