X-Rated
Quote of the moment:
As long as war is regarded as wicked, it will always have its fascination. When it is looked upon as vulgar, it will cease to be popular. - Oscar Wilde.
In the meantime, there's X-Men 3. Awesome stuff, especially the Jean Gray bits. Wolverine continues to go on amazingly bloodless 12A-rated killing sprees on the slightest provocation, which is also good. Should you not have seen it yet, stay to the end. Goodies (and not in the baddies sense) hidden after the credits.
Should have been rowing in the Monmouth Regatta today, but because of the week of heavy rain the Wye was not only high but also full of flotsam of the rudder breaking log variety, which was also apparently building up around the piers of the bridge part-way down the course. So, no racing. We may be going to the Reading Regatta instead though.

Indeed... Steve was recalling his apparently long abandoned X-men fanatic childhood and saying it was rubbish that Jean Gray didn't sprout huge firey wings when she became phoenix, but I thought it was quite cool. Reminded me a lot of Galadriel when she's offered the ring in the Fellowship.
Clunker indeed, on a par with Patrick Stewart's intro as he shows Logan around in 1, but that was excusable because it needed to be done and got out of the way somehow.
heard about hugh Jackman's wife insisting he kept the leather outfit to enliven the bedroom action?...
Oh, forgot to mention... as the credits and final clip finished some genius cued up Bon Jovi's "Keep the Faith" on the speakers... multiple e-tokens of choice (propz/kudos/etc) to them. So apt... if only Wolverine had started singing that instead of dropping his clanger...
oooohhh can't wait...
also, bon jovi? lol! ace!
I agree with Will T, but that's probably because we went to see it together with the Kaz. Yes, that bit was the gayest of all gays. Made me go, "Oh DEAR." Sighage. It was orrite. Jean Gray was looking rather hot, I'll give you that. I liked her coat.. And her corset for that matter. But not her trousers. Also go see Prime. Tis FUNNAE.
LOL. You were doing a fashion appraisal?! What did you think of the new leather outfits then? I felt a "DARRRRRRRRRLING!" moment was missing :p
Leather outfits were HOT. Cool how they had their own colours, eh? I was thinkin' Scott thingeeymebob wudda been red.. Right? I liked 'em, but I the Jackman line ruined that scene. "We stand together. X-MEN." (Y)YA! (Y)(Y)(Y)(Y)(Y)YA! Super super SUPER gay.
Yeah, outfits were pro... I kinda liked the ones in the original though, the kind of brown leather ones... maybe just for the bit when Wolverine says "You actually wear these things outside?!" and Cyclops replys "What would you prefer, yellow spandex?!"
"a stolid yet near-omnipotent succubus with varicose veins"
- Time Out on Jean Gray.
